Fishing & Boating

With 11 major lakes, the Wisconsin River and numerous smaller lakes and streams, fishing is one of the favorite forms of recreation in Conover. Year-round, the lakes offer opportunities for the serious as well as the beginning angler. Whether you’re after a trophy Musky, catching a mess of panfish with the kids or watching tip-ups on the frozen water, your success will be exceeded only by your enjoyment.

Are you bringing a boat to the Conover area?
Your boat may have been exposed to non-native invasive life forms that are not welcome in Vilas County. Animals such as Zebra Mussels or Rusty Crayfish and plants such as Eurasian Water-Milfoil can easily be transported unintentionally from a contaminated lake to one that is not. Be a responsible boater. Properly clean and disinfect your boat, trailer, and fishing equipment before leaving home. Help keep our area free of aquatic non-native invasive life forms. Our pristine lakes are a heritage worth preserving!
