The single track trail system out at The Tamaracks is for both limited use (non-DMV registered) and Dual Sport (DMV registered) motorcycles. To ride on this system both types of motorcycles are required to purchase a OHM permit from the Wisconsin DNR. Just like the snowmobile and ATV user groups are required to do. Trail development work has been identified into three phases. Phase One has around 8 miles of family friendly and beginner skill levels. Target opening for Phase One is mid to late August of this year.
Once open, trail development work will begin on Phase Two. Almost 6 miles of intermediate rider skill level has been mapped out. This will take about a year or so to complete. Phase Three will be a advanced rider level known as “Hero” riding. No development work has been done on this yet however a location has been identified. The main Trail-head is located across from from the Tamarack Springs Campground. This is a rustic campground that has 9 sites, a new vaulted toilet and a camp host. Located on a trout stream. The Main trail Park and Ride is located just across the river from the campground. This area is currently a day use area. A second park and ride location will be just west of the Tamarack and Rummels Road intersection, on Rummels Road. Pictures are of the trail still under construction.
